Wichita State University – John Bardo Center (GOCreate)

The Wichita State campus is expanding to reflect the innovation and entrepreneurship demands of the economy. The experiential engineering building is among the first tangible pieces of Wichita State’s innovation campus that will be housed where the Braeburn Golf course once operated. Students will learn in laboratories and studios outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and tools. This hands-on experience will prepare students with traditional engineering skills as well as real-world experience.

This new building will be on the cutting edge of technology while fitting in seamlessly with the familiar materials that have been used throughout the campus. The juxtaposition of surfaces creates a bold contrast on the building. The two-story lobby features a glass curtain wall on the north and south walls that gives great views of the city and campus. Two flanking wings house high bay lab spaces and horizontal bar caps provide shade at the entrance to the building.
